SleepSnaps records video and audio of you while you sleep. Everything it records stays on your iPhone. We do not have servers that receive your recordings, we do not use analytics or advertising trackers, and we never sell data.
When you start a night, the app uses the camera and, if you allow it, the microphone. It saves short video clips (with sound when the microphone is on) whenever it detects movement, snoring or sleep talking. It also stores the time, length, type and intensity of each moment, plus a still thumbnail from each clip.
Clips, thumbnails and the night history are stored only in the app’s private storage on your device. They are included in your iPhone backups (iCloud or computer) under Apple’s backup encryption. No copy is sent to us or to any third party.
We do not collect your name, email, location, contacts, identifiers, usage analytics or crash reports. The app has no account or sign-in. The app does not use any tracking as defined by Apple’s App Tracking Transparency framework.
The camera is required to detect movement. The microphone is optional; without it, the app monitors movement only and says so on screen. You can change either permission at any time in the iPhone Settings app. Recording only happens while a night is actively running in the foreground.
If you buy a Pro subscription or lifetime unlock, Apple processes the payment. We do not receive your card number. Apple may share a non-identifying purchase receipt with the app so it can unlock features. Manage billing in your Apple ID settings.
You can delete a single clip, a whole night, or everything the app has stored from within the app. Deleting the app from your iPhone also removes all of its recordings and history. Check your backups if you also need copies gone from iCloud or a computer.
If someone else shares your bedroom, make sure they know about and agree to being recorded. You are responsible for complying with the recording and privacy laws that apply where you live.
SleepSnaps is not directed at children under 17 and should be used by adults to monitor their own sleep. It is not a baby monitor.
