FAQ
- Is this a medical device?
- No. SleepSnaps does not diagnose, treat, or monitor any condition. Snore and talk labels and the rest score are rough on-device heuristics. Loud snoring, gasping, or pauses in breathing are reasons to talk to a doctor, not to trust an app. Full notice: Health.
- Is it a baby monitor?
- No. Do not use it on infants, patients, or anyone who depends on being watched. Recording can stop without warning.
- Where does the video go?
- The app’s private storage on your iPhone. We do not run servers that receive recordings. We do not have an account system. iPhone backups (iCloud or computer) may include app data under Apple’s backup encryption.
- Do I have to allow the microphone?
- No. Camera is required for movement. Without the mic, it watches motion only and says so on screen.
- How should I place the phone?
- Nightstand or a stable shelf, whole bed in frame, plugged in, Auto-Lock off or screen kept awake by the app. Too far, too dark, or under a duvet and it will miss things. Detection is not magic.
- What about battery?
- Plan on USB power. A full night of camera + mic is not a battery-friendly job. If it dies, the watch ends.
- Who is it for?
- Adults curious about their own night — snorers, sleep-talkers, people who wake confused or bruised. If someone else is in the room, they need to know and agree. 17+.
- How do I delete data?
- In-app: one clip, one night, or all nights. Deleting the app removes its sandbox. Confirm iPhone backups if you need recordings gone there too.
